Organising a retreat or workshop in the Pays de la Loire
The Pays de la Loire has Anjou and its vine-covered slopes, the Vendée coast, and two very rural departments, the Sarthe and the Mayenne. Group gîtes, practice rooms and group accommodation centres are set in longères, tufa stone houses around Saumur or renovated farms in the middle of the bocage, with its hedged fields.
Le Mans is under an hour from Paris by TGV, Angers an hour and a half, Nantes two hours. The region is easy to reach and prices are often reasonable. Plenty of organisers from western France and Paris come back here regularly.
People talk about the gentle climate of Anjou for good reason: it's mild, without extremes. From May to September you can do yoga, meditation, qi gong, tai chi or dance outdoors.
