Organising a retreat or workshop in Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Nouvelle-Aquitaine is the largest region in France, and its group gîtes, practice rooms and group accommodation centres vary a lot: manor houses in the Périgord, longères in the Limousin, farms in the Lot-et-Garonne, villas near the ocean in the Landes or the Basque Country. Venues are often spacious and set in large grounds, so there's room for yoga, meditation, qi gong, tai chi or dance.
Bordeaux is just over two hours from Paris by TGV, and Poitiers, Angoulême and Limoges are well connected too. The Limousin and the Creuse are quiet, and prices are lower than average. For a long retreat or a silent retreat, that makes a difference.
The weather is pleasant from May to October. In July and August the Dordogne and the coast get very busy, so a group will have more choice and more peace and quiet in June and September.
