Who processes your data?

What we collect and why

When you click "Call", we count the click without keeping your IP address. We replace it with a one-way hash, which cannot be used to recover the address.
The site's technical log records actions on accounts and listings, and the emails sent. Each entry is deleted after 12 months.
The newsletter
- We send a venues and retreats newsletter: new venues, upcoming retreats, ideas for organising a retreat. It is used for nothing else.
- You can sign up from the bottom of every page. We then keep your email address, and your first name and surname if you give them.
- When you write to the organiser of a retreat, you can also sign up by ticking the box provided. If you don’t tick it, your address is only used for your enquiry.
- When you write to a venue to hold a retreat there, you also receive the newsletter, as stated in the sentence below the send button. You can decline it when sending with the “I don’t want to receive it” link, then at any time.
- If you create a professional account, to list a venue or to organise retreats, you also receive the newsletter. We tell you so when you create the account, just below the button. You can opt out at any time: one click on the unsubscribe link in any newsletter is enough, or untick “Receive the newsletter” in My account, under Account details.
- Legal basis: your consent when you sign up yourself or tick the box on a retreat enquiry; for enquiries sent to venues, our legitimate interest in informing retreat organisers who have written to us about services related to their activity; for professional accounts (venues and organisers), our legitimate interest in keeping professionals registered on the site informed of news related to their activity, after telling them so when the account is created and giving them the option to refuse.
- How long: until you unsubscribe. Each newsletter contains a link to unsubscribe in one click; you can also write to bonjour@retreatcenterguide.com. Once you unsubscribe, your address receives nothing more.
- The newsletter is sent by Mailchimp, our mailing provider, which does not use your address for its own purposes.
Your account, your shortlist, your simulations and your alerts
- Your profile (whether you're looking for a venue or offering one) is kept with your account and deleted along with it.
- Messages you send to a venue from your account stay visible to you and to the venue for 12 months.
- Your budget simulations are kept in your account and deleted along with it.
Who receives your data
- The venue or service provider you are writing to: they receive your message and contact details so they can reply to you.
- Stripe, for card payments. The site never sees or stores your card number.
- OVH, our hosting provider, based in France.
- Mailchimp, if you sign up to the newsletter.
- The OpenStreetMap mapping services (Nominatim and Photon): when a listing is published, they receive the address as entered so they can suggest the correct address and place the venue on the map.
- Mapbox, which displays the maps on listings and in search results, only if you accept external content.
- Google Analytics, only if you accept audience measurement.
We never sell or rent out your data.
Cookies
Necessary cookies (login, basket, remembering your cookie choice) are always active. Analytics and external content (videos, maps) only load with your consent. You can change your mind at any time using the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of every page.
Your rights
You can access, correct or delete your data, object to its use or ask for a copy of it: write to bonjour@retreatcenterguide.com. Professionals can also edit their listing and account directly in “My account”. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can refer the matter to the CNIL (the French data protection authority, cnil.fr).
Security
The site runs on HTTPS. Passwords are encrypted, and login links sent by email expire after a few minutes (7 days for a payment link).
Language
This site is available in French and English. If the English version differs from the French text, the French version prevails.
