Organising a workshop or retreat in Brittany
In Brittany, organisers come for the light and the coast, or for the quiet of the inland countryside. Depending on where you go, the group gîte, practice room or group accommodation centre might be a long stone farmhouse in central Brittany, a house on the Gulf of Morbihan or a manor near the Rance. For a yoga, meditation, qi gong or walking retreat, having the sea or the moors close by makes a big difference to the atmosphere.
Rennes is less than an hour and a half from Paris by TGV, and there are direct trains to Brest, Quimper, Vannes and Saint-Brieuc. Venues in central Brittany are more remote and need a connection from Rennes or Saint-Brieuc, but they're often the most peaceful.
The climate is mild all year, without extreme heat. Spring and autumn are very pleasant, and the coast is much less crowded then than in summer.
