Organising a workshop or retreat in Centre-Val de Loire
In the Centre-Val de Loire, Tours and Orléans are about an hour from Paris by train. Yet in the Sologne, the Perche or the Berry you find a quiet you wouldn't expect so close to the capital.
The group gîtes, practice rooms and group accommodation centres here include estates on the banks of the Loire, hunting lodges in Sologne, farms in the Perche and a few châteaux turned into venues. They host yoga, meditation, qi gong and sophrology courses, for a weekend or a full week's retreat.
The forests and ponds of the Sologne are well suited to outdoor practice. The area is pleasant from April to October. Winter is harsher, and that's the season for retreats by the fire.
Good to know
- For a first retreat away from Paris without a long journey, this is the easiest region.
- In Sologne, the hunting season (autumn) can limit walks, so check before you go.
