Organising a retreat near Montpellier
There are plenty of retreat venues around Montpellier: mas in the garrigue, wine estates, farms in the Cévennes, houses on the Larzac plateau. In the hills of the upper Hérault and in the Gard, you're somewhere quiet less than an hour from the city.
Montpellier and Nîmes are about three hours from Paris by TGV, so getting a group together for a week's retreat is easy. The season is long (April to October) and many venues stay open in winter.
Summer is very hot down on the plain, so head for the Cévennes instead, or find a venue with a river or a pool.
