About the venue

La Clé de Sol welcomes you for all your retreats, seminars, artist residencies and training courses. It is tucked away in the hills of the Drôme at Marsaz, 20 minutes from Valence TGV station and 10 minutes from Tain l'Hermitage station and the A7 motorway.

What La Clé de Sol offers

An air-conditioned practice room: a generous 156 m² space with exposed beams and wooden floors, full of light, with views over the Vercors. It has central heating, plus a wood stove for extra warmth.

Also available: carpeting as needed, plus all the equipment you need for your teaching and practice (hi-fi system, mixing desk, floor mats, cushions, mattresses, throws, chairs and flip chart).

A dining room that doubles as a social space

It is laid out as three areas over 140 m², arranged around a wood-burning stove: a fitted kitchen, a dining area and a large lounge for relaxing. The last two areas can be adapted to suit your needs. It opens straight onto the garden.
Meals: self-catering is possible, and you are welcome to bring your own cooks. We can also provide our own cooks (organic, local and seasonal meals).

The grounds


It has several flexible, tree-shaded areas for breaks and outdoor meals. It sits in the middle of nature, with no close neighbours. Relaxation guaranteed.

Currently being installed: a 5 x 4 swimming pool and outdoor showers.

A large car park, reserved for participants, gives direct access to the venue.

Accommodation

25 beds in total (up to 27 on request):

- 4 bedrooms for 2 or 3 people on the second floor of the main house, with a shared bathroom area (2 showers and toilets). - One large bedroom with a private bathroom.

- A straw and earth bedroom known as the "Little House on the Prairie", with toilet and washing facilities at the entrance to the common room.

- A 11-bed dormitory in exposed stone and wood, with adjoining toilets and showers and direct access to the practice room. - Pitches available for vans or tents (no electricity).

- Composting toilets on the garden level.

- Plenty of walks starting from the venue.
- Lac de Champos leisure park at Saint Donat sur l'Herbasse, Lac des Vernets leisure park at Saint Barthélemy de Vals, Étang du Mouchet (classed as a Sensitive Natural Area).
- Facteur Cheval's Palais Idéal at Hauterives.
- Tournon sur Rhône: the château, the Rhône quays, Lycée Gabriel Faure (historic monument).
- Tain l'Hermitage: Cité du Chocolat Valrhona, wine route (Crozes Hermitage, Saint Joseph...).
- Swimming pools at Tain, Saint Vallier, Chateauneuf de Galaure and Hauterives.
- Close to the Vercors massif and Regional Nature Park.
- Cycling: ViaRhôna, Dolce Via in Ardèche, Via Ardèche greenway.
- Plenty of riding centres.
